What is StockWatch Practice?
A free, educational web app for practising stock chart reading. You get hidden chart situations: you don't see which stock or which day it is. You decide what you would do, then we show you what happened – and whether your decision was sound by the rules, or just lucky.
How does it work?
- Hidden situation: a chart up to the day of the decision, at a normalized price (last close = 100), without the stock name or date.
- Decision: skip, or enter long or short with a mandatory stop – or a targeted task: placing the stop, recognizing a pattern, drawing levels and a trend line, calculating position size.
- Verdict: good decision, lucky, unlucky or bad decision – with a step-by-step walkthrough, compared with rule-based strategies and a random baseline.
What will you learn?
Ten levels with short lessons and targeted exercises: candles and trend, moving averages, support and resistance, patterns, stop placement and R, pullbacks and oversold conditions, breakouts, shorts and bearish patterns, risk management.
Daily challenge: everyone gets the same five situations, with a leaderboard (only nicknames are shown) and private groups for a course or a group of friends.
Who makes it?
The service is developed and run by a private individual, on a non-commercial basis and free of charge. There is no broker, investment firm or advertiser behind it.

Nothing. No ads, no payments, and we store no payment data.
Data protection
We only process the data needed to run the service; there are no advertising or tracking cookies, and visits are counted without cookies on our own server. Details: privacy notice.
